Du Magic Paint Gel Directions for Use

Du Magic Paint Gel is new paint technology. It's very simple and easy to apply. Just take a look at the training animation! Follow the instructions here for great repairs.

• For best results store Du Magic Paint Gel in the refrigerator prior to application to cool the product down
• Apply Du Magic Paint Gel and Du Magic Extra Gloss in a cool shaded area, not in direct sunlight.

Step 1: Clean

Clean the surface by polishing the damage with a non-silicone car polish. Cleaning is essential for Du Magic Paint Gel’s durability. If the area is not cleaned correctly Du Magic Paint Gel may peel off.

Step 2: Wipe

Wipe the damaged area with denatured ethanol or methylated spirits on a soft facial tissue for 5 rubs. Allow to dry.

Step 3: Apply

Apply Du Magic Paint Gel to the damaged area with the supplied applicator.

• Squeeze half a drop of Du Magic Paint Gel onto the applicator’s short edge
• Immediately wipe Du Magic Paint Gel into the damage
• Remove excess Du Magic Paint Gel from applicator with clean soft facial tissue
• Remove excess Du Magic Paint Gel from the repair by wiping with the wide edge of the applicator
• Repeat if needed to fill deep damage. Allow 15 minutes drying time between coats
• If residue exists, dry for about 15 minutes and then wipe the area with a facial tissue which has been dampened with denatured ethanol or methylated spirits

Stand Back - If the damage is invisible, then the repair is completed! Repeat after 15 minutes to fill deep damage.

Special notes for applying Gel

Application Tip

Only use half a drop, just enough to fill the damage.

For Temperatures Over 25C (80F)

First cool the repair area with iced water and dry with a clean cloth before Step 1.

For Temperatures below 20C (50F) for FASTER repairs

Warm with a hairdryer to set Du Magic Paint Gel and Du Magic Extra Gloss.

Applicator Cleaning

It is best to remove all Du Magic Paint Gel from the applicator with a clean facial tissue, immediately after each application. If the Du Magic Paint Gel has dried on the applicator, wipe with a facial tissue dampened with denatured ethanol or methylated spirits.

Scratches, Ridges or Edges

Apply Du Magic Paint Gel gently along (not across) a scratch or the applicator may remove Du Magic Paint Gel from the damage. The same applies procedure applies to damage on ridges and edges. With ridges and edges, apply the Du Magic Paint Gel by gently wiping the applicator from different directions until the damage fills.

Removing Du Magic Paint Gel

Magic Paint Gel is removable by body shops using auto thinners prior to painting.

Color Matching

• Apply Du Magic Paint Gel in the largest chip first - so that the color match is more visible.
• If the color does not match, allow to dry and shrink then re-apply the correct Du Magic Paint Gel color.
• Like all paints Du Magic Paint Gel will slightly intensify upon drying.

Re-Ordering Du Magic Paint Gel

Each tube of Du Magic Paint Gel has a reorder code on the tube. On our website, you can use the color matching tool where each color is grouped. The last two digits increase as the color deepens. For example, a Light-White Silver is 3210 which increases to Black Metallic as 3370

Using Du Magic Extra Gloss

Du Magic Extra Gloss is very easy to apply. Use it when the repair you have completed with Du Magic Paint Gel still appears dull.

Brush Du Magic Extra Gloss lightly and liberally over the repaired area. Du Magic Extra Gloss is touch dry usually within minutes at 20C / 70F degrees. If cooler a hairdryer will speed the drying. When you first apply Extra Gloss, it will appear milky but will dry to a clear finish after 48 hours.

For an even greater gloss allow Du Magic Extra Gloss to dry for 48 hours, then hand polish with a high gloss car polish on a facial tissue.
